Product Review: Wanderskye Color Your World Luggage Cover

Monday, March 09, 2015

I don’t mind my luggage getting scratched. Dents and scratches are like battle wounds knowing your luggage has gone far. My travel companion braved cobblestone steps in Europe and harsh, rainy winter days in the Middle East. It has remained tough for more than a year now.

Last year, I started following Wanderskye’s Instagram account and saw their amazing line of luggage covers. The designs are unique and inspiring even. What I like about this is that the artists behind the designs are Filipinos. It’s a Philippine brand I would definitely support. So I contacted their number and double checked if they still have the London Lifestyle design for a large size cover. Unfortunately, it was out of stock. The design and color would’ve been perfect for my burgundy luggage.

How I Used My Globe Rewards Points for the First Time

Saturday, March 07, 2015

Last night, Xoce and I went for a date to cap off the busy work week. We were supposed to have dinner at Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, but we got really hungry so we decided to visit Max’s Restaurant instead (getting hungry means devouring rice).

While we were choosing food from the menu, there was a small advertisement on the table that says you can pay using your Globe Rewards points. If you’re a Globe Subscriber (whether prepaid or postpaid), you’ve probably received in the past few days an SMS from 4438 that you have this certain amount of points that will be valid until March 31, 2015. Usually, I would ignore these messages. But then, I remembered I already have 198.11 points.

Out of curiosity, I wanted to know how this works. So when one of the waiters approached us, I asked if I can pay using my Globe Rewards points. He said yes and gave me this:

Instructions on how to pay using your Globe Rewards Points. Max's Restaurant's number is indicated on the card.
I turned the card over for more information.

(Updated 2017) Steps in Applying For a Japan Tourist Visa | Philippines

Thursday, March 05, 2015

I’m going back to Japan this April and I’m so excited for spring! I’ve been to a number of countries in three continents, but Japan still holds this irresistible charm on top of my list. It’s one of the best places I’ve visited in my years of travel, not only because of its iconic places but also because of their food, culture, people, invention and the little quirks which are unique to Japan.

With all the available flights to Japan coming from the Philippines, visiting the Land of the Rising Sun is no longer far-fetched. Still, you need to secure a tourist visa if you’re a Filipino traveler with a Philippine passport.

Biking For The First Time - At 28 Years Old

Tuesday, March 03, 2015

When I tell people I don’t know how to ride a bike, most of the reactions are like, “Ha?! Hindi ka marunong mag-bike?!” (What?! You don’t know how to ride a bike?!). They find it odd and surprising. People I know first learned how to maneuver a bicycle when they were kids (complete with knee pads, elbow pads, a helmet, and a bike with a pair of balancing wheels), but I never got to learn how to do it when I was little.

I remember I was riding a bicycle with balancing/training wheels which I borrowed from a neighbor, but when my mother saw me, she was furious and commanded me to step down pronto. I was probably around 6 or 7 years old back then. Of course I can pedal on a stationary bike or a tri-bike/sidecar, but I just couldn’t find my balance on a bicycle.
